The White Mountain Initiative with Embassy of the Earth

The White Mountain initiative was born in collaboration between Maasai leaders and the Dutch organization Embassy of the Earth, now assisting in the preparation and organizing of the Future Search.

Embassy of the Earth has an extensive track record of working with key problem-owners and stakeholders in finding shared and sustainable solutions for complex challenges. With common ground, a vision for a desirable future, clear strategies, attainable objectives and action plans, communities of practitioners will be capable of restoring ecosystems, microclimates and its water cycles and creating healthy and vital livelihoods for all.  And have the skills to actively adapt to future challenges, again and again.

FRIENDS OF THE MAASAI

The Friends of the Maasai Foundation is founded to empower and support the Maasai to take their future in their own hands. We focus on community led ecosystem and livelihood restoration. We work in close collaboration with the Maasai communities and cultural ambassador Ezekiel Ole Katato. Together with Osotua Foundation and Embassy of the Earth we work together in the White Mountain Movement.

TAKING ACTION TOGETHER

In collaboration with Olakira Le Maa, the local Maasai organization in Kenya, we identify and develop practical solutions for the challenges facing the Maasai, while engaging in the sort of cultural encounters, strengths and opportunities available with the Maasai that build communities and strengthen our human bonds.

Our role is:

  • Finding support from companies, foundations and individuals to secure a sustainable future for the Maasai.
  • Finding and sharing quick interventions that can support the Maasai communities
  • Collaborating with a wide range of experts and organizations to implement long-term solutions for integrated ecosystem restoration (see White Mountain project).
